Dissertation Poster.

As I am soon approaching my final year of my degree, it is now time to start thinking about my Dissertation Project. I have decided to use my strong interest and knowledge about the pop-punk culture to explore the ways in which the development of new technologies has affected the relationship between the record labels and their audience.

I have created a poster in order to showcase my ideas. I have used typography and colours that are representative of this genre of music: red, black and white. I believe the graphics make the topic easily recognisable and help to define my interests.

Social Media is a very important aspect in the music industry so I have incorporated this into my design so that any potential clients can easily contact me. Added a link to my blog helps to link the two together, creating a brand identity for myself.

I am very happy with how my poster has turned out, it is very representable of my topic and I look forward to researching into this topic further!

Whilst on placement at Kerrang! Magazine, I was given the chance to get my "Top 10 Favourite Songs" published into the magazine.

Radio Station Launch.

Kerrang! Magazine Feature.

Phone App Idea.

As part of my Events & Exhibitions Production Module, I created a proposal for an event launch for a new radio station. Download full document here:

At University, I undertook a module in Media Innovation where I had to design an mobile app. I created Giggler. Giggler is the world’s first app to provide you with a live feed at concerts; keep track of the set-list, as it is playing right in front of you. When you first open the app, it uses GPRS to track your location. It then gets hold of all the information for the concert that is playing live in front of you. Providing you with live information about the artists and which song is playing, you can keep tabs on your favourite songs. Giggler then forms a set list where you have the opportunity to download your favourites or all the songs from the show.

A Documentary: Sugarcoated Porn: Does Sex Sell Music?

Mock-up Design.

I, along with some other colleagues set up a record label called Humbucker Records where I determined the general direction for the following areas: A&R, Press release, Marketing/Branding, Finance, Plugging, Promotion, Research. We created a documentary to find out whether sex sells music. What do you think?
